The assistance was sought during a meeting of World Bank country Director in India Oano Ruhul with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna, an official release said. They discussed in detail the programme of connecting habitations of more than 250 people with concrete roads.

Bihar to build 50,000 km roads in 5 yrs
Bihar government will construct a network of 50,000 km of roads in the next five years, said Rural Works Department Minister Bhim Singh on June 10. Presenting the annual report of his department, Singh said while 11 districts are covered under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), the remaining districts would be covered under Mukhyamantri Gram Sampark Yojana (MGSY).
Bihar govt to build Ganga Expressway on its own
The Bihar government, after being let down by private partners, is now planning to construct its ambitious Ganga Expressway project on its own. It has also sought financial assistance from HUDCO and ADB, The State government envisioned this Rs 2,224 crore project to provide 22 kms long four lane congestion free road link within Patna.
Bihar to bring in road maintenance policy
In its next budget, the Bihar government may come up with a separate policy on road maintenance in the next budget. The government's move is by keeping in view the maintenance of all roads built during the last seven years.
GAIL revives pipeline project
GAIL India has revived the much delayed Rs 7,596 crore Jagdishpur-Haldia gas pipeline gas pipeline project. It is learnt that the groundwork for the project, which was sanctioned in 2007, is yet to start. The project was sanctioned almost five years ago. However, first a glitch over gas availability led to delay in execution.
