Bengal Aerotropolis Projects (BAPL) has said that flight operations at the proposed Andal airport would begin on April 15, 2014. BAPL, a joint venture between Changi Airports International (26 per cent) and four Indian companies is the promoter of BengalÂ’s first private airport near the Durgapur-Asansol industrial area.

The airport is being developed by Bengal Aerotropolis (BAPL), a venture involving four Indian companies and the Singapore-based Changi Airports International.
