A contract of Rs 358 crore has been bagged by engineering and construction major Punj Lloyd from the Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL) to build the Sulphur Block of Resid Upgradation Project at its Manali refinery near Chennai.
Maduravoyal-Chennai port road project to get contractor
In Chennai, the elevated road project from Maduravoyal to Chennai port is of great significance in view of the development of a container terminal, the Chennai Port has told the Tamil Nadu High Court. The road project operator will be selected soon and the Letter of Approval is likely to be issued in the first quarter of the financial year, the port said.

In Chennai, the Anna Nagar link road project, which has been making a tardy progress over the past four years, finally seems to be heading towards completion with the construction of the bridge across the Uyyakondan river reaching the finishing stages. The link road will be completed in the next three months, sources said. To achieve a growth of around 25-30 per cent over the next couple of years, non-banking finance company (NBFC) Shriram City Union Finance plans to raise around Rs 1,000 crore issuing debentures and through other debt this fiscal, the company said on July 31. The fund raising is expected to happen sometime this year to support the company's target.
