Policy on auction of coal linkages in 2-3 months
Policy on auctioning of coal linkages to the power sector is likely to be finalised in 2-3 months, the government said. Proposed policy on auction of coal linkages to power sector will take two to three months,' Coal and Power Minister Piyush Goyal told reporters.
Power firms await coal linkage policy
Power producers have made a fresh appeal to the Centre to release a coal linkage policy soon. They have argued the coal linkage policy announced by the previous UPA government had covered 78,000 MW to be commercially operational by March 31, 2015.
Assured coal supply for stuck power plants
The order refers to the plants which are part of the tranche of projects totalling capacity of 78,000 Mw for which a presidential directive was issued in 2013.The central government will bail out close to 21,400 Mw of power plants by assuring coal linkage through new fuel supply agreements (FSAs).
Coal linkage for PPA developers
Given the litigation over the cap on fixed costs, the government would desist from auctioning more captive coal blocks to power companies
GVK gets green nod to import coal
GVK Power (Goindwal Sahib) Ltd, a subsidiary of GVK Power and Infrastructure, has got permission from the Environment Ministry to import coal from South Africa as a ´stop gap´ arrangement in case the company fails to get coal from its captive mines in Tokisud North sub-block in Jharkhand.
