Indian Oil Corporation Limited and GAIL (India) Limited have signed an MoU with Dhamra LNG Terminal Private Limited (DLTPL) for taking equity in the 5 MMTPA capacity LNG receiving, storage and re-gasification terminal being set up at Dhamra Port, Odisha. The agreement was signed in New Delhi in the presence of Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan.

According to reports, Adani Ports and SEZ (APSEZ) is seeking further acquisitions after taking over Dhamra port on the east coast recently.
Odisha inland waterway to be ready in three years
The proposed inland waterway linking Kalinganagar industrial area, and eventually Talcher, to Paradip and Dhamra ports is to be ready in three years. The state government signing an MoU with the Inland Waterway Authority of India (IWAI) and the two ports in the state capital.
Biggest parcel size vessel at Dhamra port
Dhamra Port recently berthed the highest capacity parcel size vessel handled by an Indian port, having capacity to carry 207,785 DWT cargo. The vessel named 'Macau Mineral' brought with it 194,073 tonne coal from South Africa. The South Korean made ship is 312 m long and about 50 m in breadth, was built in 1989.
APSEZ closer to Dhamra deal
The Adani Group is a step closer to acquiring Odisha´s Dhamra port, which secured the environmental clearance from the government.
As its management consultant, the Adani Port and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) already looks after the operations of the port, which is a 50:50 joint venture between L and T and Tata Steel. APSEZ´s Rs 5,000-crore deal is likely to be completed by early next month.
Adanis may buy Dhamra Port from Tata, L&T
To expand its presence in the country's east coast, India's biggest port operator Adani Ports is said to have clinched a deal to acquire Dhamra Port, an equal joint venture between Tatas and L&T. The deal is stated to be around Rs 5,000 crore. Sources concerned said that the deal has almost completed as the talks between Adanis and Tata Steel and Larsen & Toubro have reached to the stage of signing it formally.
Odisha govt rethinks leasing land for port project
Odisha government reportedly considers whether to postpone the handing over of land for the Rs 10,000-crore expansion of Dhamra port following reports of the promoters reducing their holding in the port venture. Agency reports indicate that the cargo handling at the Dhamra Port in Odisha doubled during 2012-13 to 10 million tonne (mn t) from over 5 mn t in the previous year. IOC in need of land for DPCL to set up LNG terminal
For setting up of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal within the Dhamra Port premises Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has sought early allotment of 125 acres of land from the Odisha government. In March this year, IOC had entered into a pact with DPCL for developing a liquefied natural gas terminal inside the port area at an investment of Rs 10,000 crore.
