Over 12 lakh houses sanctioned for urban poor
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), launched in June last year, a total of 12,27,088 affordable houses for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in urban areas have so far been approved with a total Central assistance commitment of Rs 19,682 crore of which Rs 6,172 crore has been already released.
DDA to allot 2,400 one-bedroom flats to EWS
The Delhi Development Authority built 2,400 one-bedroom flats in Dwarka have been ready for allotment to beneficiaries from the economically weaker sections (EWS). Low-cost housing was the prime focus of the Authority's meeting on August 9, which was chaired by Najeeb Jung, lieutenant governor.
