Centre releases details on nuclear energy generation
The electricity generation from nuclear power in the last two years, i.e., 2014-15 and 2015-16, was 37,835 million units (MU) and 37,456 MU respectively. The generation in 2014-15 was 35,592 MU of commercial generation and 2,243 MU of infirm (non commercial) generation, while the entire generation in 2015-16 was commercial.

Water Imperative

Around 15percent of waste is being segregated at various levels
The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) receives approx 9,000 tonnes of municipal waste on a daily basis at three locations, namely Deonar, Mulund and Kanjur. Approximately 3,000 tonnes of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) are being processed using Bio-Reactor Technology at the Kanjur processing and landfill site.
Maharashtra govt to unveil off-grid policy
Maharashtra government will soon bring in an off-grid energy policy to promote rooftop solar power generation and provide subsidy to cooperative housing societies and government buildings to encourage electricity generation through the non-conventional method.
