GAIL signs US deal to source LNG
For bringing in close to six million tonne of LNG every year over a 20-year period beginning 2016-17, GAIL (India) has entered into a $60-billion (about Rs 3.80 lakh crore) deal with two US-based companies. GAIL is the first Asian company to buy LNG from the US.

India in talks with Pak to export natural gas via pipeline
To export natural gas to Pakistan through a pipeline from its Punjab state, India is in talks with the neighbouring country to help it overcome crippling energy shortage. India's State gas utility GAIL has proposed to lay a 110-km pipeline from Jalandhar to Wagah border via Amritsar to supply natural gas to Pakistan, GAIL Chairman and Managing Director BC Tripathi has said.
GAIL looks to buy 13 LNG cargoes in FY13
GAIL Chairman BC Tripathi said on July 25 that the company needs to buy 13 cargoes this fiscal year to March out of its planned 34. GAIL received 7 cargoes in the first quarter of the fiscal year, Tripathi said. He added that contracts for 21 cargoes have already been finalised.
Petronet plans to operationalise phase I of terminal project by Aug
According to media reports, Petronet LNG may operationalise its Phase-I of the natural gas terminal at Kochi by the end of August 2013. The company, which initially planned to commission the project during March 2013, faced several roadblocks.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plants of GAIL has reportedly stopped receiving natural gas from Reliance Industries' KG-D6 block because of falling output in the area. Supply to the plant was stopped because gas output at KG-D6 declined to just over 14 mmscmd which is enough to met the requirement of fertiliser plants. Fertiliser plants are given top priority in gas supplies
