The second unit of the 2X300 MW power plant of GMR's EMCO Energy has been synchronised with the grid and has achieved full load operation on 27 August 2013. The GMR Group is setting up EMCO Energy's 600 MW power plant at Warora in Chandrapur District of Maharashtra.

NHAI may bar GMR from its bids
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) are contemplating action against GMR Group for its 'abrupt and unilateral' walkout of the 555-km-long Kishangarh-Udaipur-Ahmedabad National Highway project. Alleging delays in approvals GMR has come out of the road project.
GMR to issue ` 316 cr bond issue for hÂ’way project
GMR Group would launch long-term infrastructure bond issue for its highway project in January, India Infrastructure Finance Company (IIFCL) said. The Rs 316-crore issue will be partly guaranteed by IIFCL, a state-run infra lender, through its credit enhancement scheme. GMR plans to raise around Rs 316 crore through the issue and IIFCL would guarantee the bonds issue to the tune of 24 per cent.
