Nabard sanctions Rs 176 cr to Gujarat for agri-infra
Under its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund-XIX (RIDF-XIX) the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 175.74 crore to Gujarat. The funds would be used for construction of lift irrigation facility consisting of a 32.90-km pipeline for transmission of 200 cusecs of water in Mehsana district.

TIL vie for Rs 8,200 cr JNPT terminal contract
After buying a 50 per cent stake in a container-loading facility at Mundra port in Gujarat in last July, Terminal Investment Ltd SA (TIL) , majority owned by Mediterranean Shipping Co SA (MSC), is looking to expand in India further. Terminal Investment Limited SA (TIL) invests in, develops and manages container terminals around the world. The company was founded in 2000 to secure berths and terminal capacity in the major ports used by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
Rs 8,000 cr to expand IOCs Koyali refinery
To expand its Koyali oil refinery in Gujarat, Indian Oil Corp (IOC) will invest about Rs 8,000 crore. The State-owned oil refinery wanted to expand the Koyali unit to 18 million tonne per annum by 2016-17. The expansion from 13.7 million tonne will lead to improvement in distillate yield thereby enabling production of more value added products from the refinery, a company statement said.
Green nod kept in pending for Port Pipavav expansion
A fresh appraisal has been ordered by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on the proposed expansion of Port Pipavav in Amreli district of Gujarat. The NGT on August 22 kept in abeyance for six months the clearance granted for expansion of Port Pipavav and asked the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) and the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) of the State government to conduct a fresh appraisal of the project.
Gujarat gets about Rs 1000 cr for rural road project
The Union government has cleared about Rs 1,000 crore for Gujarat to take up rural road works. Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh has conveyed this to the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi that the Centre has sanctioned Rs 970 crore to the state for building 919 rural roads. The State government will have to spend about Rs 22 crore as a matching expenditure.
GSPC JV to rope in strategic investor for LNG terminal project
Gujarat State Petronet Corporation (GSPC) and Adani Enterprises (AEL) are jointly setting up a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Mundra in GujaratÂ’s Kutch district. Govt invites bids from PSUs for 5 lignite blocks
The Union government has called bids from public sector undertakings (PSUs) for 5 lignite blocks with an estimated 156 million tonne of reserves. The lignite blocks in Gujarat and Rajasthan will be awarded to State-run companies depending on various factors like location of the end use project and preparedness of the end use project, a government notice said.
