Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) has failed to find a replacement for Haldia Bulk Terminals (HBT) even after nearly half-a-year since ABG-LDA-run HBT was ‘forced out’ of Haldia port. Because, no one is ready to offer mechanised cargo handling services at a matching rate.
Cargo handling project to be awarded soon
In another one month, Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) plans to award the contract for mechanised dry bulk cargo handling operations at berths 2 and 8 of Haldia docks to new concessionaires. The port authority is in the process of re-tendering the contract after the exit of ABG-LDA promoted Haldia Bulk
