First phase of the Eastern Freeway of Mumbai city was inaugurated by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on June 13. It is the city's most-ambitious elevated road project. The cost for the first phase of the Eastern Freeway is stated to be at Rs 847-crore. More than 35,000 motorists will now be able to use the 14 km, elevated road from Orange Gate near CST station to Chembur in the Eastern suburb.

Mangalore railway station gets its 2nd foot overbridge
In Mangalore, a second foot overbridge was inaugurated at Mangalore Central Railway Station on February 11. Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament from Mangalore said that the overbridge has been constructed at a cost of Rs 75 lakh to connect platforms 1, 2 and 3.
Jharkhand CM inaugurates Ranchi-Patratu road
Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda inaugurated the Ranchi-Patratu road on November 21. The 35.27 km road is constructed at a cost of Rs 203 crore. The road passes through Patratu valley and around 16.6 km of the project is four-lane and the rest is two lane. The road has 10 high mast lights and six bus bays.
