Suzlon Group's wind park in Kutch district of Gujarat has crossed 1,000 MW of installed capacity. This makes the company's Kutch wind park one of the largest of its kind in India. Suzlon currently has a total installed capacity of over 1,500 MW in Gujarat.Apart from Kutch, the company's other installations in the state are at Jamanagar, Porbandar, Rajkot and BhavÂnagar.

Welspun investment plans
Welspun Energy will make investments worth Rs 15,000 crore in the next three years for renewable energy capacities in India. The board of directors of the company has recently given its approval for the investment plans. Vineet Mittal, Co-founder and Managing Director, Welspun Energy said in Gandhinagar that the company has invested around Rs 3,500 crore for
power capacities in the renewable energy space.
GAIL commissions 5-mn t LNG terminal
BC Tripathi, Chairman, Gail India, informed that it has commissioned the 5 million toÂnne (mn t) capacity liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Dabhol facility in Maharashtra.
He also informed that the firm plans to double its capacity by 2016 in a phased manner. Initially, the firm would focus on completing construction of break-water facility, which will help in expanding the terminal's capacity to 7.5 mmtpa in next two years and finally to 10 mmtpa in 2016.
Ore shipment doubles in December
In December 2012, 11 major Indian ports handled a total of 1.89 million tonne of iron ore export cargo compared to 907,000 tonne in November 2012. This is a over 100 per cent rise in export of the steel-making raw material in December compared to the previous month
Global clean energy investments fell by 11% in 2012
According to reports, the overall global clean energy investments in 2012 was $268.7 billion, down from $302.3 billion in 2011. Clean energy investment declined 11 per cent in 2012, weighed down by regulatory uncertainty and policy changes in big markets such as the US, India, Spain and Italy. Sharply lower prices of solar and wind technology also provided downward pressure on investment volumes.
