Kerala takes measures for maritime safety
Kerala government is taking all measures for ensuring maritime safety, said the State Minister for Ports K Babu. He was speaking at the 15th meeting of the Maritime State Development Council held in Bangalore recently.

Kerala sanctions Rs 12 cr for crane in Beypore port
For the Beypore port, the Kerala government has sanctioned Rs 12 crore to procure a container handling crane of 40 tonne capacity, the State Minister for Ports K Babu has said.

For a proposed port at Vizhinjam in Kerala, the State government is awaiting the Central government's green signal, said the State Ports and Fisheries Minister K Babu. Near the famed tourist sport Kovalam, the Vizhinjam port has been planned by the State government.
Kannur airport by 2015
The Kerala government is striving to operationalise the Kannur international airport by December 2015. Kerala Minister for Excise and Ports K Babu said that the third phase of land acquisition process for the proposed international airport in Kannur has begun.
Rs 1,700 cr Kannur airport to be ready by 2015 end
Kerala's fourth international airport at Kannur would open in December 2015, the State's Excise and Shipping Minister K Babu, who is also in charge of the airport project, said on July 13. Seven companies have been shortlisted in the pre-qualification bid for building the airport, which is coming up in an area of around 2,000 acres and is expected to cost Rs 1,700 crore.
Steps are on to develop T’puram Airport: Govt
Measures are being taken to speed up the development of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Replying to questions in the the State Assembly in Thiruvananthapuram, the Excise and Ports Minister K Babu, who also handles the airports portfolio, said on June 24 that steps were being taken to shift the existing domestic terminal and solve the problems faced by the passengers.
Vizhinjam to become India’s deepest port
In Kerala, the Vizhinjam international seaport will have the deepest draft in the country and it will be able to berth mega vessels of 18,000 TEU capacity. The master plan for the proposed Rs 4,010-crore Vizhinjam project, which was unveiled on May 30, says the port will have several such unique features and is expected to attract many international vessels that pass through the western coast.
