Construction of incomplete COD railway over bridge in Kanpur would commence once again from December 25. The over bridge is under construction for the last four years. According to sources first of all diversion would be developed for passers by. Thereafter construction work would begin in main bridge.

Kanpur to get its first multi-level parking lot in 2014
Kanpur to get its first multi-level parking facility next year with a capacity to park 450 vehicles. Construction on the project would begin on Canal Road in the city next year, said the Kanpur Development Authority (KDA).

Residents of Kanpur are facing hardships due to the dilapidated condition of roads in the city. Especially dug up roads are bothering them a lot. One of the many unlevelled and the potholed stretches in the city is Kalpi road between Zarib Chowki and Fazalganj. The entire stretch of nearly 1.5 km is unlevelled ever since it was dug up for laying of sewage pipes under JNNURM scheme.
Kanpur roads repaired for CMs visit
Thanks to the scheduled visit of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to Kanpur on October 18, the district authorities were seen busy in preparations including road repairs. The potholed roads were levelled and the areas through which the CM is to pass were cleaned up.

In Kanpur, for beautification of road divider from Naronha to Gol Chauraha, the Uttar Pradesh government has released Rs 5 crore. The divider will be decorated with greenery by planting flower plants and herbs.
Kalpi Road in Kanpur to be reconstructed soon
The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned work order for reconstruction of Kalpi Road (National Highway -25) Kanpur between Jarib Chauky and Vijay Nagar Crossing. Historic Kalpi Road connects Kanpur to Jhansi and is a part of the National Highway -25. The State Public Works Department (PWD) in Kanpur had sent a proposal in this regard to its headquarter.
Investors sell stake in CUGL to Indraprastha Gas
IDFC Private Equity, IL&FS Investment Managers and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) sold their cumulative 50 percent stake in Kanpur-based Central UP Gas (CUGL) to Indraprastha Gas for about Rs 70 crore.
