For widening the Stadium Link Road in Kochi, the Kochi Corporation has finally managed to acquire five cents of land after 13 years. The road connects the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium with Thammanam-Pullepady Road. Work on the started in 2000.

Land needed to widen Goshree-Mamangalam road in Kochi
There is a great need for the Kochi Corporation and the Kerala government to begin the land acquisition process for the development of Goshree-Mamangalam Road in Kochi as a corridor parallel to Banerjee Road. There is an urgent need to widen the extremely narrow strip of the road near the church since motorists coming from the four-lane road often meet with accidents.
Kochi Corporation to pace up road repairs
The Kochi Corporation has decided to speed up the repair work of roads across the city. The Council which met on July 24 decided to initiate proceedings for the same. The zonal engineers will be asked to lay metal patching on the roads on a war-footing. This will provide a short-term relief for commuters, said the Corporation. The potholes of the city roads will be repaired at the earliest, the Corporation said.
Thammanam-Pulleppady road widening hits bottleneck
As the Kochi Corporation has failed widen Thammanam-Pulleppady road, various stakeholders have demanded to entrust the work to the State Public Works Department (PWD) and include it in the preparatory works for Kochi Metro Rail. The widening of the road is crucial for diverting the traffic during the construction of Kochi Metro.
Kochi Corporation to widen Thammanam road
For widening the Thammanam-Pulleppady Road, Kochi Corporation and the district administration have jointly conducted an inspection for facilitating land acquisition. The local body has already issued the preliminary 4(1) notification to execute the process. Mayor Tony Chammany and the District Collector PI Sheik Pareeth held a review of the project site between MG Road and C P Ummer Road on May 19.
Kochi civic body to approach NHAI for flyover designs
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will be approached by the Kochi Corporation and ask it for designs of flyovers planned at Edappally, Vyttila and Palarivattom junctions in the city limits. Mayor Tony Chammany informed the council that he would take up the issue with NHAI project director CT Abraham.
