Unravelling growth
At 4.87 million km, India has the second largest road network in the world. Transporting over 60 per cent of the country´s goods and serving 85 per cent of total passenger traffic, it is little wonder the Modi Government has accorded the highest priority to developing roads and highways.

Thus spake the industry
The land acquisition bill would lead to further holding up of the infrastructure projects where many projects are already languishing due to the failure of authorities to acquire the necessary land for development.

Expanding Public Purpose definition is critical
Even before a parliamentary panel form sought critical changes that could thwart the industry, the Land Acquisition Bill, now planned for the monsoon session of the Parliament, needs to change several thorny clauses including a definition of public purpose
