The Project Monitoring Group (PMG) set up by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has cleared Rs 5.1 lakh crore worth of infrastructure projects in less than a year, prompting over a dozen states keen on setting up similar monitoring cell in their respective states.

Govt may increase defect liability period for roads
The government could make builders liable for defects on the main carriageway for five years instead of the present two years. This measure has been said to be taken by the government to ensure that roads are maintained better in the city.
