The National Highway 169 between Mangalore and Karkala via Moodbidri will be widened by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). NHAI has proposed to widen the stretch between Mangalore (from Kulashekara) and Moodbidri into a four-lane road and the stretch between Moodbidri and Karkala as two-lane road, say media reports.

To identify accident-prone locations on Pune-Bangalore highway and suggest road-safety measures for the same, a team of safety consultants from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will inspect the highway sections on November 12.

Toll to be collected on Padil-BC Road stretch
In Mangalore, toll will be collected from vehicle users on the 20-km stretch between Padil and BC Road by this year end. Though the 37-km Surathkal-BC Road stretch was constructed by the same agency- Ircon International Limited (IRCON) - two different agencies will be appointed to collect the toll and do the maintenance of the road, stated the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

IIFCL to become sole lender to road developers
The Union Finance Ministry's decision to permit India Infrastructure Finance Corporation (IIFCL) to become the sole lender even at a pre-bid stage has been welcomed by road developers. However, the road developers stated that the exact impact will come to known only after the finer details emerge. The very fact that IIFCL can become the sole lender is a good decision. One of the key points is the project developer would not have to go to multiple banks.
Gurgaon e-way toll up by Rs 60 lakh a month: NHAI
From the 32-lane toll plaza on Gurgaon expressway, the toll collected has been increased by Rs 60 lakh in a single month after the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) commissioned a survey to monitor collections. This was stated by the NHAI before the Delhi High Court on October 28.
No cancellation of toll on Jaipur h’way stretch: NHAI
Proposal to suspend toll on the Gurgaon-Jaipur stretch of NH-8 till the completion of widening of the highway was turned down by the board of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on October 22.
Work to start soon on a new bridge near Kolhapur
Work on a parallel bridge to Shivaji Bridge on Panchaganga River, to connect Kolhapur to Konkan area in Maharashtra, is likely to start from next week. The bridge work has been taken up by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
