By 2016-17, Odisha government wanted to complete two-laning of all the National Highways in the state. A decision in this regard was taken at a high-level meeting presided by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar on April 13.

Odisha govt for upgradation of Jeypore airport
The Odisha government has asked Koraput district administration to identify a single patch of 310 acre near the existing airstrip at Jeypore in the district to upgrade it into an airport. In a letter sent to the district administration recently, the government said the required land should be without any natural barrier for further expansion of the project and have good road communication.
Odisha coal block auctions
Odisha government decided to allow its public sector firms to bid for the five coal blocks - Chandrabila, Tentuloi, Sarpal-Nuapada, Kudanali-Luburi and Bramhani - that the Union Coal Ministry would auction in the state. The ministry has issued notification of bidding for new coal blocks. These five new blocks are estimated to have reserves of around 2,940.48 mn t.
Odisha to come out with a solar policy in next two months
Targeting a generation of 50 MW of solar power within one year, Odisha government said its comprehensive solar policy would be in place in the next two months. The State Science and Technology Secretary DN Gupta said that private investors were interesÂted to put their money in the sector.

The Odisha government, on the lines of Gujarat, is mulling to organise Global Investors meet on a grand scale. Gujarat had hosted a two-day ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ meet recently.
OdishaÂ’s port connectivity projects
Odisha government proposed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to upgrade road connectivity to six non-major ports in Astarang, Baliharchandi, Gopalpur, Dhamra, Chudamani and Subarnarekha. It may be recalled that in February 2012, the Odisha government awarded the contract for feasibility studies for four-lane connectivity to these non-major ports to two consultants.e "preloaded content"
