Rajasthan has claimed that its capital Jaipur will see the Metro running this June itself. It claimed that the Metro had been constructed in a record time of less than two and half years thanks to the support from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said this in his meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia in Delhi on March 20.

Cairn India, ONGC to produce oil from Aishwariya field
Cairn India and ONGC, which is a 30 per cent joint venture partner in the former's Aishwariya oil field in Rajasthan, hope to close 2013-14 at a production rate of 200,000-215,000 barrels of oil a day from the field. Aishwariya is the third largest discovery in the Rajasthan block and can produce higher than the current production rate approved under the field development plan.

Nalco's 2nd wind power project
National Aluminium Co (Nalco) is setting up its second wind power project of 50 MW capacity in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan at a cost of around Rs 190 crore. The public sector firm, which placed an order for the Rajasthan project to Gamesa, expects to operationalise the plant in the next seven months. The company's first wind power plant, of 50 MW capacity, at Gandikota in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh was commissioned recently.
