Great Eastern Energy Corporation (GEECL), which is the country's first producer of coal bed methane (CBM) gas in India, prepared an aggressive programme for exploring and developing the blocks. The programme envisages drilling 300 production wells in its Raniganj (South) block, West Bengal and 50 core wells and 30 pilot production wells in its Mannargudi block
