Conventional producers to invest in RE
The Central government may soon require conventional power project developers to install renewable energy projects within the premises of the fossil fuels based power plants. If the power ministry goes ahead with such a plan, the power project developers may have to set up renewable energy capacity equivalent to around 10 per cent of the conventional power capacity within the premises of the power plant.

Solar power metering
Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission has invited suggestions and feedback from stakeholders on a proposal to introduce net metering for rooftop solar power generation as per guidelines laid down by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The commission claims that, with about 300 sunny days in Delhi a year and around 30 lakh households, Delhi has more than 700 sq km of built-up area for installation of photo-voltaic systems.
