To improve road conditions and safety in Kerala the Union government has signed a pact with the World Bank for $216 million loan for the State Transport Project. The loan and project agreements for World Bank assistance of $216 million for Kerala State Transport Project were signed between the Central government, Kerala government and World Bank on June 19, an official statement said.

Agrawal promises Arlem-Raia road-widening
Taking cognizance that the Arlem-Raia road has become accident-prone South Goa District Collector ND Agrawal held a meeting on April 25 where he promised to implement measures to improve road conditions and required signages would be installed by May 10. The collector who meet PWD officials, traffic police, Maina Curtorim police, Raia panchayat and Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, said that the land acquisition process required for the road widening would be completed shortly.
