Railways to build road overbridges at select level-crossings
Union Minister of Railways Mallikarjun Kharge has stated that Indian Railways has decided to construct road overbridges (RoBs) at level-crossings based on feasibility studies. The RoBs would be commissioned wherever train-vehicle unit is greater than one lakh count, he added. Kharge was in Puducherry in connection with the launch of the new Tirupati–Puducherry weekly express on September 17.
Mumbai’s 3 central railway stations to get ROBs
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) got the green light from the Railways to build road overbridges (ROBs) at three central railway stations in Mumbai. This will help streamline traffic flow in the busy pockets of the suburbs. An officer of the BMC's Bridges Department said on June 28 that the railways has said that it would cooperate with the BMC to construct three bridges at Vidyavihar, Vikhroli and Nahur railway stations.
