The Kozhikode Corporation has been granted Rs 54 lakh by the Kerala government for immediate repair and restoration of roads within the Corporation purview and rural limits of the district. The government on July 23 had allotted the sum in two orders to repair eight roads in the Kozhikode Corporation area and five in high-range areas of Thiruvambady, Koodaranji, Karassery, Kodiyathoor and Puthupadi within the district.

Six road projects in Manipur to be funded by ADB
Asian Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned Rs 1,800 crore for development of roads and bridges in Manipur. The proposal for development of six roads has been sent to ADB. Some of these road project include 110-km long Imphal-Moreh Road on NH-2; 85-km long road from Imphal to Wangjing, Heirok and Khudengthabi; 34-km long ring road in Greater Imphal and road from Imphal to Kangchup.

Indore DC asks NHAI, State officials to repair roads
In Madhya Pradesh, Indore Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Dubey on August 2 issued instructions to the officers concerned to repair roads within a week. In a meeting with officers of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and State Highway at his office, Dubey said people are facing huge inconvenience on the roads. Kochi Corporation to pace up road repairs
The Kochi Corporation has decided to speed up the repair work of roads across the city. The Council which met on July 24 decided to initiate proceedings for the same. The zonal engineers will be asked to lay metal patching on the roads on a war-footing. This will provide a short-term relief for commuters, said the Corporation. Funds sanctioned to build 3,500 km roads in Maha, Gujarat
For Maharashtra and Gujarat, the Union government has sanctioned money for building 3,500 km roads in the two states. Haryana okays sanction of Rs 9 cr for Ynagar road works

Centre okays 2,834 km road upgradation in rural Gujarat
In Gujarat, the pre-empowered committee of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has cleared upgradation of the 2,834 km of roads at an estimated cost of Rs 1,064 crore. Union Minister of Rural Development Jairam Ramesh informed Chief Minister Narendra Modi about the Centre's decision in a letter. Ramesh said that a meeting of the pre-empowered committee was held recently and the same has recommended upgradation of 921 roads, covering 2,834 km in all across the state.
