A large number of National Highway Projects have been stucked due to land acquisition issues. This issue are taken up by NHAI from time to time in consultation with the State Governments by holding regular meetings for expediting the acquisition of land besides taking action.

Kozhikode Corporation gets Rs 54 lakh for road repairs
The Kozhikode Corporation has been granted Rs 54 lakh by the Kerala government for immediate repair and restoration of roads within the Corporation purview and rural limits of the district. The government on July 23 had allotted the sum in two orders to repair eight roads in the Kozhikode Corporation area and five in high-range areas of Thiruvambady, Koodaranji, Karassery, Kodiyathoor and Puthupadi within the district.
Six road projects in Manipur to be funded by ADB
Asian Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned Rs 1,800 crore for development of roads and bridges in Manipur. The proposal for development of six roads has been sent to ADB. Some of these road project include 110-km long Imphal-Moreh Road on NH-2; 85-km long road from Imphal to Wangjing, Heirok and Khudengthabi; 34-km long ring road in Greater Imphal and road from Imphal to Kangchup.
Indore DC asks NHAI, State officials to repair roads
In Madhya Pradesh, Indore Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Dubey on August 2 issued instructions to the officers concerned to repair roads within a week. In a meeting with officers of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and State Highway at his office, Dubey said people are facing huge inconvenience on the roads. He issued strict instructions to repair roads including Lebad-Ghata Billod road, Indore-Pithampur Road, Dhar-Manawar Road, Rajgarh-Kukshi Road and Dewas-Indore Road.

In Chandigarh, the increasing traffic on roads has compelled the UT Administration to mull over alternative routes to reduce congestion. To improve connectivity between the Chandigarh Railway Station and the Airport, the UT Administration has proposed a new road connecting the two destinations. For construction of the road that would stretch around 2.5 kilometre, some land will be acquired from the Railways.

Kochi Corporation to pace up road repairs
The Kochi Corporation has decided to speed up the repair work of roads across the city. The Council which met on July 24 decided to initiate proceedings for the same. The zonal engineers will be asked to lay metal patching on the roads on a war-footing. This will provide a short-term relief for commuters, said the Corporation. The potholes of the city roads will be repaired at the earliest, the Corporation said.
Funds sanctioned to build 3,500 km roads in Maha, Gujarat
For Maharashtra and Gujarat, the Union government has sanctioned money for building 3,500 km roads in the two states. In 3,500 km roads to be developed in the two states, Maharashtra's share will be 2,620 km. Ramtek MP Mukul Wasnik had conducted a review meeting of Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) on July 13. He told the Congress workers in Nagpur that Nagpur would be included in the tenth phase.
Haryana okays sanction of Rs 9 cr for Ynagar road works
Haryana government has approved Rs 9.37 crore to repair roads in Yamunanagar district that were damaged because of the recent rains. More than Rs. 1.87 crore will be spent on the construction of roads, cross-drainage structure and 60-metre side ramps on link road from Kaith Kalanour village to Lapra village, the State Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said in a release.
