NE states to get rail connectivity by 2020
The Indian Railways said most of the capitals of North Eastern states will have railway connection by 2020. ´All capital cities of North East states, including Sikkim, will be under Indian Railways map by 2020.
Tibet rail link close to Sikkim
China inaugurated its second railway line in Tibet. Built at a cost of $2.16 billion, the rail link is close to Sikkim border and has been launched to enhance mobility of its military in the remote and strategic Himalayan region.
7 DPRs of power projects
The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has received the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of seven hydroÂ-power projects which will generate 3,760 MW of power in the north east region.
