82 railway stations to get CCTV cameras
The Southern Railway will install CCTV cameras in 82 railway stations in Chennai division at a cost of Rs.40.6 crore in six months. ´The Union Ministry of Railways recently sanctioned Rs.40.6 crore for installing CCTV cameras in 82 railway stations in the Chennai division.

SR freight traffic goes up
Southern Railway (SR) freight loading has for the first time crossed the 40-million tonne (mt) mark. Rakesh Misra, General Manager, Southern Railway, said that during 2013-14, the zonal railway had recorded its best-ever loading of 42.403 million tonne of freight.
