Patiala-Bhadson road in Punjab will be widened up to 33 feet. The State government has decided in this regard and the widening of the road work on this would commence in November next. Public Works Department Minister, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, said the State government has given approval for the widening of this 4 kilometre stretch from its present 18 feet to 33 feet.

Odisha to build 200 more bridges under Biju Setu scheme
In Odisha, the State government would build 200 more bridges in the state at a cost of Rs 700 crore in this current fiscal. The government on July 20 announced that the bridges would be built under the Biju Setu Yojana. The State Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, at meeting decided that the bridges would be built on 111 rural development and 82 panchayat roads. The tender process would be completed by October.
Punjab govt to upgrade highways at Rs 3,080 cr
Punjab government has decided to improve road connectivity and would spend Rs 3,080 crore to convert all highways in the state into 4/6 lanes by January 2016. For this the State government is inviting more investors, the government said on July 10.
