Karnataka Minister for Public Works Department H C Mahadevappa has said that the state government has proposed a 18 km Green Bypass Project costing Rs 2,200 crore. The funding is planned through assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as a permanent solution to improve the condition of the Shiradi ghat road stretch.

In Chennai, Rs 43 crore has been allotted by the Tamil Nadu government for widening a small stretch of Grand Southern Trunk Road in Irumbuliyur, Tambaram. MBL Infrastructure has been awarded the project of developing a 46.98 km road from Garra-Waraseoni up to Maharashtra border in Madhya Pradesh by Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MRPDC), the company said in a statement.

Mumbai h’way’s 2-km stretch in Pune to be concretised
In Pune, a 2-km stretch of the Pune-Mumbai highway from Phugewadi to Dapodi will soon be concretised along all eight lanes. The stretch, which falls in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits, was widened earlier, but its concretisation work has not been completed. The PCMC has already concretised the 11-km highway stretch from Phugewadi to Nigdi.
