The Union Civil Aviation Ministry last week realised that the promoters of the new airline AirAsia India has not provided names and nationalities of the Chairman, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of the proposed airline. The Ministry has received application from AirAsia for obtaining an initial No-Objection Certificate. AirAsia plans to set up its Indian unit in partnership with Tata Sons and Telestra Tradeplace

AirAsia expects to start JV operation by 4th quarter
By the fourth quarter of 2013, AirAsia expects to start operation of its proposed low-cost airline in a joint venture with Tata Group and Arun Bhatia of Telestra Tradeplace. As soon as the joint venture receives approval from the sectoral regulator, it would launch operation, AirAsia's founder and group CEO Tony Fernandes said
