Govt issues GO facilitating mercantile marine activity
The Union Ministry of Shipping has issued an order to facilitate trade using inland waterways and mercantile marine activity along coasts. The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) has issued an order declaring waters inward of the baseline, as per the notification under Maritime Zone Act, as 'Inland Waters'.

House panel wants govt to discourage ore export

Major ports witness rise in coal cargo
The 12 major ports in the country witnessed 43.96 percent rise in the handling of thermal coal cargo at 19 million tonne (mn t) during Apr-Jun 2013 from the year-ago period.
