After the design for the new city airport terminal T2 was cleared on July 31, airport sources said the security-after-immigration design was opted for a number of reasons. If travellers by mistake carry something in the handbag that can't be taken on board, they can give it to those who have come to drop them. If security is after immigration (like Delhi) then the traveller is completely cut off.

Jet, IndiGo slash air travel fares by 30-50%
Airlines are now striving to woo travellers. On February 19, Jet Airways and IndiGo slashed airfares. Jet is offering 20 lakh seats from Rs 2,250 onwards. These seats can be booked till midnight of February 24 for travel till December 31. IndiGo slashed fares on select routes by about 30 per cent.
