Kochi’s Banerjee Road widening progresses well
In Kochi, the widening work on one side of the Banerjee Road, a major preparatory work for Kochi Metro Rail, is expected to be completed by July-end. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials said the widening work on the stretch between St AntonyÂ’s School at Kacheripaddy to Madhava Pharmacy is gaining momentum. The widening work between Town Hall and Kacheripaddy will commence soon.
Noida Authority opens 1st bridge to tide over traffic chaos
Noida Authority has wrapped up the widening work of the first of the five bridges on Shahdara drain between Film City and Mahamaya Flyover. On April 22 one of the carriageways of the bridge was opened to traffic. With this its a relief to thousands of commuters who travel to Noida-GreaterNoida from the DND Flyway and from east Delhi.
Foundation laid for widening work of Jandiali-Kohara road
Foundation for widening work on road leading from Jandiali to Kohara in Punjab was laid by the State PWD Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon on April 11. This road will serve as a bypass to the people of Dhanansu, Bhudewal, Mehlon and Paharuwal, and their distance to Sahnewal town will be cut short by several kilometres. A total of Rs 2 crore will be spent on this bypass road and it will be completed in three months.

A’bad’s SG h’way expansion takes off, faces hurdle
After a delay of over six months, the widening work on an important stretch of the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway (NH 8-C), which connects the western part of Ahmedabad to the state capital (Gandhinagar) has finally taken off. The Rs 55-crore project has, however, hit a roadblock with the compound wall and sacred Nishan Sahib of Gobind Dham Gurudwara coming in the way of the expansion plan of the State Roads and Buildings Department.
