Pointing out that there had been no progress in the work on NH 66 in Udupi district of Karnataka, K Raghupati Bhat, MLA, on January 26 accused Udupi-Chikmagalur MP K Jayaprakash Hegde of failing to expedite work on the widening of the National Highway 66. Bhat told the media in Mangalore that there had been no progress in the work on NH 66 ever since Hegde became an MP.
HegdeÂ’s predecessor DV Sadananda Gowda used to constantly monitor the highway widening work. Bhat said that he had not claimed credit for getting a halt for the Pune-Panvel-Ernakulam Express in Udupi.
