Tata Power, India´s largest integrated power company, has announced that the company´s total generation from non-fossil operating capacity stands at 3,060 MW, making it the largest renewable energy company in India. The company´s robust non-fossil fuel portfolio comprises 693 MW of hydro, 918 MW of solar, 1,074 MW of wind, and 375 MW of waste gas-based generation.
Taking a step further towards building a greener portfolio last year, the company revised its share of non-fossil fuel based capacity up to 35-40 per cent by 2025. The company´s wind generation capacity has also increased by 82 per cent in FY17, up from 591 MW in FY16 to 1,074 MW in FY17, and solar generation capacity has gone up by 1,539 per cent, up from 56 MW in FY16 to 918 MW in FY17. The company has several renewable energy projects located in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The company is also in the process of implementing nearly 500 MW of renewable power projects at various locations.
