The government may defer the starting date for local screening of telecom or technology products used in mobile networks as a key nodal agency, Telecom Security Directorate (TSD), mooted two years ago, and the testing lab have not yet been set up. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in consultation with the home ministry had advocated such a directorate to coordinate all telecom security-related matters.
