Come this October, the Ministry of Railways is likely to announce three new Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) for swift transportation of freight moment across the highly dense routes in India. The Railway Board has already proposed the East Coast, East-West and North-South corridors.

These corridors are: Vijayawada-Kharagpur covering 1,107 km, Mumbai-Kharagpur covering 2,328 km, and Chennai-Delhi covering 2,327 km.
