In Tamil Nadu, the Tuticorin thermal power project’s first unit of 1,000-MW (2×500 MW), which is under construction, is likely to be commissioned in December 2013 and the second unit by March 2014, according to Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) Chairman-cum-Managing Director B Surender Mohan. The project is being implemented through a joint venture company, NLC- Tamil Nadu Power (NTPL).
