In order to root out corruption, malpractices and bring about transparency, Uttar Pradesh government has made it mandatory for all mining contracts to be awarded through e-tendering. To ensure transparency, the IT and Electronics Department already has e-tendering. In 12 days since e-tendering in mining began, as many as 340 contracts from about 30 districts have been notified online.
