The US is scouting for a bilateral investment treaty with India eyeing on the huge business opportunities in building India's infrastructure. Given that 80 per cent of the infrastructure of 2030 has yet to be built, the US sees a great oppÂortunity to deepen its commercial partnership.
Between 2002 and 2010, the US exports to India quaÂdrupled, from $4.1 billion in 2002 to more than $19.3 billion in 2010. The US services expÂorts to India more than trippled, $10.3 billion in 2010. If the trade continues to expand at its current pace, total two-way traÂde in goods and services will surpass $100 billion in 2011 for the first year on record.
