As part of the initiative, tailored working capital loans will support solar panel dealers, while rooftop solar financing will be extended to residential and commercial consumers seeking decentralised energy solutions.

In a strategic move to accelerate clean energy adoption, Solfin Sustainable Finance—a solar-focused non-banking financial company (NBFC) backed by Waaree Energies—has announced a co-lending partnership with a leading Japanese financial institution. The collaboration aims to unlock faster, more affordable financing for solar panel dealers and rooftop solar consumers across India.

The partnership leverages the Japanese NBFC’s capital strength and lending expertise alongside Solfin’s sectoral focus and innovative financing models. Together, the two entities intend to address the growing demand for accessible solar finance, particularly among wholesale dealers and end-users seeking scalable solutions.

“This partnership brings together two financial institutions committed to accelerating India’s solar revolution,” said Pramod Mahanta, Co-Founder of Solfin. “With Waaree’s backing, we are well-positioned to tap new segments and offer faster access to funds and innovative products that support the country’s clean energy transition.”

Under the initiative, working capital loans will be tailored for solar panel dealers, while rooftop solar loans will be extended to residential and commercial segments. The co-lending structure promises competitive interest rates and improved credit accessibility, with nationwide coverage spanning urban and rural markets.

Founded in December 2022 by Gautam Kaushik and Pramod Mahanta, Solfin operates as a distributed green asset delivery and financing platform. As its captive NBFC arm, Solfin Sustainable Finance focuses exclusively on green financing.

Waaree Energies, India’s largest solar manufacturer, supports Solfin with its expansive manufacturing footprint and diversified clean energy portfolio.
