Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) has complted widening of Salem-Ulundurpet road in Tamil Nadu and the company has begun collection of toll on the road.
Commuters can now travel on the 136 km stretch in less than two hours, which used to take over four hours earlier, Rinfra said.
It is widened at a cost of Rs 1,061 crore.
The Salem-Ulunderpet corridor connects major tourist destinations and industrial zones in Salem district with Chennai International Airport. The project is executed under the aegis of the NHAI and was awarded to RInfra to operate and maintain for a concession period of 25 years.
Reliance Infrastructure said that the widened road will provide a hassle-free, safe and smooth driving experience to motorists.
