Minister of New and Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah said that the capacity addition in the wind energy sector declined after the withdrawal of Accelerated Depreciation (AD) and Generation Based Incentive (GBI) from April 2012. In the approved 12th Plan document, Planning Commission has suggested creation of a Wind Mission so that all the related issues for speedy exploitation of wind potential of the country can be addressed.
