The German Hamm AG will premiere at the first “bc India”. Compacting experts from the Wirtgen Group will present their new type 311 compactor in Mumbai. The powerful machine, speÂcially designed in Germany in cooperation with Indian engineers for the Indian market, is now produced at the new factory of the Wirtgen Group near Pune.
Headquartered in Germany, Wirtgen is the world leader in the field of mobile road construction and rehabilitation equipment. The group of companies has a strong line up of core German brands, Wirtgen, Vögele and Hamm, in the group's road tecÂhnologies business, and the renowned Kleemann brand in mineral technologies.
The Hamm 311 is designed specifically for the Indian market. This single-drum compactor corrÂesÂponds to the high standards of quality of the Wirtgen Group, but is manufactured locally so that it can be competitively priced. A team of engineers and tecÂhnicians from India and Germany developed the product and established and qualified a new logÂistics chain onsite in its Pune facility that ensures that the production line is supplied with high-quality components. The vibratory compactor is available in three variants: in the standard version with rear-axle drive as the 311 model, the 311D model with additional driven drums and the 311P model with pad foot drums. The 3-point pendulum articulated joint gives the machine excellent driving and steÂering characteristics as well as unsurpassed direÂctional stability. In addition, there is a modern disÂplay to simplify operation and keep the driver informed about the machine's condition.
Wirtgen India, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Wirtgen Group, has commenced its new production facility at Bhandgaon, near Pune. The new factory comprises a 2,700 sq m administration centre and training building alongside a 3,600 sq m factory, built to the same standard as Wirtgen Group's proÂduction facilities in Germany. The new training cenÂtre at Wirtgen India is equipped with high-end multimedia system, two generously dimenÂsioned training rooms, each one large enough to carry out training directly on a Wirtgen surface miner or a large Vögele asphalt paver.
