A two-day workshop on "How to make the Workplace – Positive, Healthy, Ethical and Safe" was conducted by Airports Authority of India (AAI) recently at Indian Aviation Academy, New Delhi.
Mamta Sharma, Chairperson, National Commission for Women, inaugurated the workshop. Meera Mishra, Consultant Advisor UNDP, and Archna Agrawal, President Kalyanmayee, AAI, were present on this occasion, besides Regional Executive Directors and other senior executives of AAI.
Presiding Officer/Chairperson and members of the AAI Internal Complaints Committee functioning at five regions and corporate headquarters of AAI participated in the workshop, besides the Internal Complaints Committees of CATC, Allahabad.
The Chairpersons, NCW, in her address, emphasised the rights of the women mandated in the new Act related to sexual harassment of women at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) and appreciated the efforts of AAI, in this direction by means of organising workshop for awareness on the subject amongst its workforce.
Nirmala Samant Prabhavalkar, Member NCW, enlightened on various legal aspects related to the subject Act on its implementation and implications while Meera Mishra, besides her presentation on the issues related to the Act, answered various questions and doubts of the Internal Complaints Committee of AAI, on their experiences while functioning at respective regions.
At the end of the session, a panel discussion on various issues related to creation of positive, healthy, ethical and safe environment at workplace held wherein the Chairman, AAI, VP Agrawal, Anuradha Prasad, CEO, E-24 News Channel, Archna Agrawal, Indira Jaisingh, Additional Solicitor General of Supreme Court of India were present as panellists and Meera Mishra was a moderator.
During the valedictory, Indira Jaisingh appreciated the well-defined AAI policy, on the subject, which was framed and being followed in AAI. She also informed the gathering that she would take up various guidelines contained in the policy of AAI, to the appropriate forum, on making relevant rules consequent upon the Act of Government of India in this regard.
