Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in principle agreed to appoint Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) as the special planning authority at places where it has large land parcels. He held a meeting with Eknath Shinde, Minister for Public Works Department (Public Undertakings), where it was decided to give greater role to MSRDC in infrastructure work. He suggested that MSRDC could exploit its large land parcels to raise finances on the lines of MMRDA that raised funds through the sale of its land. He assured that all hurdles related to this would be cleared,-ö said a government official. Fadnavis also directed the PWD and the MSRDC to look at means to waive off toll charges for light vehicle users.
