Capt. Anoop Kumar Sharma has taken over as the Whole Time Director & CEO of Essar Shipping Limited (ESL). He has taken over from Ramakrishnan AR, Managing Director, ESL subsequent to his retirement on 31 March 2015.
Capt. Sharma shall take charge and will be directly responsible to the Board of ESL. He has been associated with ESL since August 2008 as the CEO and has been driving the company successfully in achieving its business goals.
An Alumni of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai and a fellow of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, London, Capt. Sharma is also the member of the Governing council of Narottam Morarjee Institute of Maritime studies along the Services export promotion council.
He was previously associated with Shipping Corporation of India for 16 years where he was the Sr. Vice President of the Chartering division responsible for exploring global business opportunities for bulk carriers, tankers, containers and other vessels and developing new businesses.
