The general body members of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) have rejected the Smart City proposal for the third time, reports the Times of India. The conditions cited to be included in the Smart City list are ´unacceptable and not in the best interest of the city´, these members said.
Eight corporations, including NMMC were considered eligible by the state to compete. In the wake of the earlier rejections, the fresh proposal incorporated some changes. However, it failed to impress the general body, says the report. Six members from the civic body were to be incorporated into the board of directors of the SPV. ´The general body has made it clear that it does not need a pseudo-development agency,´NCP corporator Netra Shirke said.
